מה זה בכלל אומר לדעת "מי אני"?

מוגזמות, אתן זוכרות שכשהיינו ילדות, בערך ביסודי כזה, היו ספרי זכרונות מגניבים כאלו שהיינו צריכים למלא בהם מה השם שלנו ואז מה אנחנו אוהבים לאכול, ואז מה תוכנית הטלויזיה האהובה עלינו ומה אנחנו הכי אוהבים בבית הספר ומה אנחנו רוצים להיות כשנהיה גדולים? וזה היה נורא כיך למלא את זה כי הרגשנו כמו סטארים קטנים שמתראיינים לעיתון ממש מטופש וגם בגלל שזה עזר לנו לדייק (מילה מעיקה, תסלחו לי) ולחדד, מול העולם (האדם שזה ספר הזכרונות שלו) ובעיקר מול עצמנו, מי אנחנו בדיוק. כלומר, אני לא בטוחה שהאוכל שאנחנו הכי שונאים ותוכנית הטלויזיה שאנחנו הכי אוהבים זה מה שאומר עלינו מי אנחנו בדיוק, אבל זה הכי קרוב שהגענו לממש לנסות לנסח את זה על הנייר.

וברצינות, מה זה אומר לדעת מי אנחנו? אינספור משפטי השראה אינסטגראמיים, הרצאות טד בנושאי עזרה עצמית ושלל ראיונות קלישאתיים עם סלבס דעתניים טחנו את החשיבות של לדעת "מי אתה" כדי לדעת איך אתה אמור לחיות ומה הכי נכון בשבילך. אבל מה זה בכלל אומר? מה זה הביטוי העמום הזה "לדעת מי אתה"? איך אני יודעת מי אני? מי שאנחנו זה מה שאנחנו אוהבים ללבוש? הטראומות שלנו מהילדות? מי שאנחנו כולל רק דברים שהם ממש מולדים בדי.אן.איי שלנו או גם התנהגויות ותכונות שאספנו עם השנים? ומי בכלל יודע מה זה מה? בקיצור, כל אדם מעט רוחני יגיד לכם שהדבר החשוב ביותר בחיים הוא להיות מי שאתה, אבל אף אחד מהם לא ממש מסביר לנו איך לעזאזל יודעים מה זה האתה הזה שהוא אני? מבולבלות? גם אני.
